SFA preparations

Hi all,

As mentioned earlier, we will be sending out FA notes to those who are taking SFA.
To get the notes, go to this website: http://myrhetoricjeer.wordpress.com/

Over there, download the following documents:
1)First Aid Outline
2)SFA2008 Practise Paper
3)Steps for CPR

The First Aid Outline shows what will be tested for SFA, so please do make sure that you know everything in the list.

For the SFA2008 Practise Paper, all Sec 2s are to do the paper and send their answers to tanyantyng@yahoo.com and jeremyteoh@gmail.com by 1st July, Wednesday, 2359. Platoon points will be awarded for those that submit on time. Even though the paper is to be done at home, it is for your own practise and we trust all of you not to cheat.

The Steps for CPR shows the procedure of CPR so do remember the procedure as it is a component that will tested during SFA.

If there are any other questions or problems, do feel free to contact Yan Tyng (92711800) or Jeremy (91158545), the current FA ICs.

Remember to revise, and good luck for your SFA.

Week 1 Training

Hi all,

Please note that training will be cancelled for Week 1 due to the H1N1 situation. Go straight home immediately after school ends. Training resumes on Week 2, Wednesday.

However, SFA will still be on 6 July, Monday, so those who are required to turn up, please remember and practise your FA at home. We will be sending out notes for SFA soon, so do not worry too much. If you have any queries about SFA, do not hesitate to find Yan Tyng (92711800) or Jeremy (91158545), the current FA ICs.

Take care, and see you again when training resumes.

Term 3

Hi all,

Term 3 will be a tough time for all of us due to the rising number of H1N1 cases, please take care of yourselves.

Training will resume as normal unless stated otherwise.

Please note of the following:

1. Platoon points, PWCs and photo links have shifted from the website to the Editorial

2. Upcoming events in term 3 can be found in the Events page of the RIRC Website, so please read through to familiarize yourselves with this term's events

3. The IPC for this term will be OA based

4. Sec 2s to note that you will be promoted during POC at the end of this term if you meet the basic requirements: attendance, discipline and accreds (CPL: Silver in FD, Evac and RCV, Bronze in OA, SFA)

5. An upcoming internal test (FA, Evac, FD and OA) will be held near the end of this term for Sec 1s. This is because your Accreds for bronze and silver will be held at the end of the year, so this internal test will serve to be a mock accred for all of you. Note that this will affect your promotions this year, so pay attention and work hard during trainings.

6. All Sec 2s will be facing an internal test (FA, Evac, FD, OA) in the early part of the term to see the subject you are specialized in. From here, you will be learning the gold syllabus of your specialised subject, and the best 2 from Evac, FD and OA will be selected to go for the Unit Instructional Program at the end of the year.

UIP:
2 saturday contact sessions, 3 day 2 night camp. Top 10% per subject in the entire level will receive a lanyard.
In short, you will learn how to become an instructor in your specialised subject, and meet various people from all RC units in singapore who are specialised in that subject as well. An experience that you can never get in our usual trainings.

7. Sec 3s will be taking over trainings this term, and will be rotating positions at various periods of the term. Note the positions below are for training purposes, and does not reveal the final positions of the new committee.

Chairperson: KK Puneeth, 93393450
Vice Chairperson: Daniel Siew, 98964451
Epsilon Mentor: Jeremy Teoh
Iota Mentor: Ho Yu Xuan
Omega Mentor: Singaram

If you wish to seek help in any areas, you can refer to these people from 27 July onwards.

However, if you are not able to come for training or if you are arriving late, please inform the Sec 4 EXCO as per normal.

------

Take good care of yourselves, and we will see you again next Monday.

SFA Update

SFA will be on 6 July, Monday, 3pm - 6pm.

All Sec 2s, except Zawad, are required to attend, as well as Yu Hui, Xi Rui, Singaram, Chee Tat, Deepanraj, Zhihao, Zhou Xuan and Zhao Yuan. Take note that this SFA is COMPULSORY for all the names listed above. If unable to attend, please provide a valid excuse.

RC Got Talent

Think you can sing as well as Susan Boyle? Or feel your dance group has what it takes to challenge Diversity? Or you and your friends just simply want to be the next Bious or the next Randomer? (those names are copyrighted though XD)

Well, now you can, with the brand new initiative from Batch 57, RED CROSS GOT TALENT (RC Got Talent for short). You can either form teams up to a maximum of 4 members or just perform a solo act. Members don't need to be limited to the same batch, Sec 3s can also participate in this.

You can sing, dance, perform a skit, do anything as long as it is entertaining and well.... proves that you have a talent. It is kind of like the open category for Arts Festival, only difference being the dance is included too.

More Details:
- Time limit: 5 minutes (Teams that exceed will be "kindly" escorted off the stage)
- First round starts in Term 3 Week 2 Monday training
- After the first round, teams have to perform according to set themes for subsequent rounds.
- Each round will feature a mysterious Sec 4 guest performer o.0
- Elimination from voting (hard to find democracy in Uniformed Groups, you said?)
- Final round will be held during Passing Out Ceremony (woah, a big stage to show off your talent, why not?)

Note: This is not a platoon-based competition, no platoon points will be awarded. Instead, it is more individual (or team). RC Got Talent is just a platform for you to discover your hidden talents, and just a place for you to have fun. The overall winner will be rewarded with a mysterious prize (trust us, it is worth it *hint: Sheng Yang sir is sponsoring it). Hidden prizes may also be awarded to contestant we deem deserving of them.

Can't wait? Start forming your groups now and send in your entries to the editorial email - editorial.rirc@gmail.com Include the following, your/your group members' names, type of performance (dance, sing etc.), and song choice (if any). Deadline for submission: 3 July 2009 (Week 1 Friday)
