Inter-platoon competition!!! (It's back!)

Hi Sec 1s and 2s, as most of you have probably realised, there is a lot of emphasis on nurturing the platoon spirit between the Sec 1s and 2s in the same platoon. Thus, we have come up with a challenge for the platoons to compete with each other to earn points on this very blog. First to correctly answer the question will win 10 platoon points. There is also another 10 platoon points up for grabs for the most comprehensive answer. The question for this post is: 'What is the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke? Compare the two on the basis of the different symptoms. Also include the treatment for both of the injuries in your answer.' Good luck and may the best platoon win! XOXO

Aloysius - Batch 63 :)

P.S. results after Wednesday, 2 April would not be considered. Thanks! XD

First Aid trainings

Hi guys,
As Saha has mentioned during training today, First Aid trainings will be conducted during most Fridays. Many of you might be wondering what these trainings are for. Basically, these First Aid trainings, formerly known as FAC trainings, are for you guys (sec 1s to sec 3s) to improve your First Aid. We have realised that there is no point holding compulsory First Aid trainings because many of you might skip it anyway.

As such, these First Aid trainings are purely optional.

We will also be releasing the content syllabus for the next few trainings. This is for you guys to see which part of First Aid you might want to improve yourself on. For example, if you feel that you want to improve your First Aid skills specifically on tying the head bandage, then you can look out for that particular training which will train head bandage. However, because you can choose when to come, we require you guys to register using the form (the link is on the blog) so that we are able to plan the manpower to train you guys.

These First Aid trainings will be really useful for you guys as there will be one-to-one guidance where the trainer or instructor can help you personally and give feedback on the spot. First Aid is an important part of Red Cross and also the Leadership Programme which you will be going through when you are Year 3. As such, we hope that you will come down for these trainings (but remember to sign up).

See you on Friday :)
