Training Details for Term 4

Dear cadets,

Take note that training will resume this Monday, 23 October, from 3.45pm to 6.30pm. Do report punctually in your PE attire, and bring along your writing materials, water bottle and platoon flags. If you are unable to make it for the training, standard protocols apply.

You will wear your Unit Tee for Wednesday's training for the Inter UG Games. Details will be announced soon.

Final Accreds for Term 3!!!!

Hey RIRC,

Batch 67 will be completing YABP (S), DM (S), FA (S) in the next training (some of you will have to take RCK (S)), while Batch 68 will be completing YABP (B), so do mug hard for this upcoming training. For Batch 68, you will have some homework to do regarding your YABP (B) accreds.

Top scorers will be awarded platoon points! This is your chance to do your platoon proud!

The rewards are:
1st: 200 platoon points
2nd: 150 platoon points
3rd: 100 platoon points

The winner for this term's IPC will be decided by the end of Term 3 (hopefully) and announced. Do expect actual rewards.

YABP Bloodbank Visit for Batch 68

Note: This post is for Batch 68 only.

Hey Sec 1s, 

Your bloodbank visit will be on next Wednesday, 26/7/17, during training. You will be visiting Bloodbank@HSA.

Do report at the main atrium by 3.30pm sharp. Bring along all items (as we won't be returning back to school), including a fully filled water bottle and your ez-link card, as we are going to be taking public transport there. Ensure you have sufficient cash in your ez-card.

You will be dismissed straight from the bloodbank at 6.30pm.

Accreds Results for DM (B) & RCK (S)

Hey RIRC,

The results of both B68's DM (B) and B67's RCK (S) accreds have been finalised.

For DM (B), the total marks included the latest Go-bag re-test conducted on Wednesday's training. Out of 14 people, 13 achieved the passing rate of 80% (or above). Congratulations to the highest scorers -

1st: Mahdin (65/72)
   =  Jason (65/72)
2nd: Ethan (63/72)
   =  Chengyuan (63/72)
   =  Yaozhu (63/72)


For RCK (S), marks only include the theory paper that B67 sat for last term. Out of the 13 who took the test, 12 people achieved the passing mark of 80% (8/10). Congratulations to Nuode, Rayden and Nicholas, who scored full marks!

All cadets who failed will be notified and have to retake parts of their accreds. Otherwise, for B67, remember to "mug" hard for your upcoming DM accreds!

National Orienteering Competition Signups

Wearing of HIOH shirts on Wednesday Trainings

You are required to wear your HIOH shirt for all trainings on Wednesday. This is to take immediate effect from next training (12/4) onwards. The HIOH shirt is the collared shirt that was given out on Monday training (10/4). If you do not have the HIOH shirt, you can wear PE for tomorrow's training.

Prize Giving Ceremony Usher Duty Update

This is an update on Prize Giving Ceremony Usher duty.

Ushers are to leave class at 1.10pm to have lunch and change into Unit-tee and uniform pants. Report at the main entrance of the Albert Hong Hall at 1.40pm. The duty will be from 1.50pm to 3.40pm.

SRC Flag Day 2017

Hey RIRC,
Singapore Red Cross Flag Day 2017 is back! This year, SRC Flag Day will be on 22 April. You will be going around as members of the Singapore Red Cross Youth to 1) raise awareness on the different services of the Singapore Red Cross and 2) sell "flags" to raise funds for these services.
Participating in this annual Flag Day will definitely give you an opportunity to share more about the Singapore Red Cross with members of the public. It is compulsory for all RIRC cadets to attend at least one of the two shifts available.

World Red Cross Day 2017

Hey RIRC,

As you all know, World Red Cross Day will be held this coming Saturday, 25th of March. This year, Red Cross aims to:
● Celebrate Red Cross Youth’s 65th anniversary with all Youth members
● Recognise the milestones and achievements of Red Cross
● Recognise contributions and achievements of Red Cross Youth members (Links, Cadets, Chapter and Volunteers)
● Welcome / enroll new members into Red Cross Youth
● Come together as one Red Cross Youth and reaffirm our Values

The details are as follows:
Date: 25th March 2017
Time: 1.30pm to 5.30pm
Venue: OCBC Square Outside Kallang Wave Mall
Attire: HIOH shirt (Unit-tee for those that do not have) + PE pants
Full school uniform (for sec 1s)

NDP 2017 Marching Contingent Signups

Hey RIRC,

Red Cross Youth will be forming a marching contingent for the National Day Parade (NDP) 2017. As such, we will be sending in secondary 2 and 3 cadets to take part in this marching contingent.

Pre-requisites
- Must be a Singaporean Citizen / Permanent Resident
- Must be proficient in footdrill
- Must be physically fit to march and jog
- Must NOT have any physical disabilities or major medical conditions
- Preferably at least 1.55m tall
- Committed to attain full attendance in all trainings (including actual day).
**Please note that only cadets with at least 75% attendance will be eligible for the NDP National badge. Most of the trainings will be held during school holidays and on Saturdays.

All nominated cadets would be going through a vigorous selection which will be held during the RCY internal trainings, as listed below, to confirm cadets forming the contingents.

Venue for Selection Trainings: TBC
Date: (18th March 2017, 1st April 2017, 15th April 2017.)
Time: 0830-1800
Attire: To report in FULL Red Cross Uniform
Things to bring: Writing materials, water bottle, personal medication (if applicable), HIOH Shirt or Red Cross Youth Shirt.
**Cadets are to have their breakfast before reporting

Total Defence Day Parade

Hey RIRC,

As tomorrow will be Total Defence Day, all of you will be expected to report at 6.45am at the Albert Hong Hall in full RCU. Do remember to bring your badges, beret, belt, and boots with black socks. Needless to say you should also bring your school uniform to change back into for lessons.

Those missing essential RCU parts (shirt, pants, boots etc.) are to report to the RCR at 6.30am.

Uniform parts

Hey RIRC,

The NCOs have realized that many of you are missing uniform parts. Some of these include misspelled name tags, cap badges and the like. Some of you have also outgrown your sizes (beret, belt, boots etc.).

Please do fill in what you are missing and cannot wear any longer. Specify your original size and what size your replacement needs to be, and remember to bring your original when you go to the RCR. Do note that parts that have gone missing under your care will not be replaced freely.
