Attendance Matters

Hello everyone,

Please remember to follow the procedures regarding attendance for training. The procedure is the same as before:

  1. Those who are not able to come for a certain training due to a pre-planned event (e.g. surgery, Merit CCA, etc) must produce an excuse letter or MC (photocopies allowed) with the training excuse form personally to either Li Hong or Vatsal(for this coming week) before that training itself.
  2. Those who are sick and absent from school on Monday or Wednesday, or are sick in the middle of that school day (and then leave school), call Li Hong or Vatsal. Submit the training excuse form together with the MC (photocopies allowed).
  3. Those who are sick (e.g. indigestion) and would like to leave school at 1515, proceed to the SR Block, and report to Jeremy, who will assess the condition and decide whether or not you may leave training. Submit the training excuse form.

We are taking very seriously those who skip training without following the proper procedure. Failure to follow the proper procedure and skip training will result in you being considered absent for that training in question. Remember that attendance counts heavily in your promotion, and is a good indication of your commitment to the unit and your self-discipline. Same goes for competition supports and all other events (refer to Points 1 and 2). If there are any queries on the attendance reporting procedures, please feel free to clarify.

For those who were unable to attend CAC support, please submit your training excuse form together with proper documentation by Monday (19 July).

Also, please take note what does or does not constitute as a suitable reason for not attending training or an event. As you should know, the training excuse form requires a form of written proof (e.g. teacher's letter for RE/project matters, parent's letter for personal matters, MC for ailments, etc). Unless supported by a teacher's letter, project meetings are not an excuse for not coming.

Trainings

Hello everyone!

There will be no training on 17 May. So training starts only on 19 May (Wed).

Take note that it's IPC FA/Evac (theres no need to mug if you have been paying attention during training and have been practicing hard :) )

Camp briefing will be held on that day too. Hence, since we're nice to not give training on Monday, training on 19 May will end at 6.15pm. Do inform your parents.

Tata, and go MYEs!!!!

New Unit T-shirt Design

Hello everyone

June Camp is on 7-9 June. (Mon-Wed)

We want to show you the new RIRC tshirt design, since our Phoenix design has been around for at least 5.5 years.

The teachers wish that we have a huge Red Cross sign so that when we go do first aid duties in our unit tshirt, people will be able to recognize that we are from Red Cross, even from afar.

And of course, who wouldn't want their shirts to be nice and wearable outside trainin?

So combine Big RC logo and cool t-shirt and "can wear to Orchard", here's the design draft 3.

Front

Back

Feel free to give comments, or suppliers that you know will provide great prices.

FYI, it will be dryfit, and the RIRC logo in front will be sewn. Other designs will be printed.

June Camp 2010

Hi all,

Please be informed that the dates for June Camp have been confirmed to be 7 - 9 June.

Sec1s and 2s, there will be a Sec3 calling you today, should you not be available during that period, tell him the reason.

If you did not receive any calls Sec3s, please send an email to rircb58@googlegroups.com.

Please note that only overseas trips and other confirmed camps (you can be excused for Church Camps, but not Merit CCA camps since RC has a higher priority over merit CCAs) are valid reasons to not be present for camp.

For clarifications, please feel free to send an email to rircb58@googlegroups.com.

Just to give you a heads up, we will be racing in various parts of Singapore, and implementing the new platoon system into this camp onwards. It will be a camp which we have never ever conducted before in the past years of RIRC, and the experience will definitely be awesome. :)

Oh yea, we're not staying in school. XD

All the best for your Mid Year Examinations!

Sec 2 Stuffs

Heyho sec 2s!

Please take note of the following thingies to bring for all trainings from Wednesday onwards:
1. A Blue file(the plastic ones that you can put notes inside)
2. 2 triangular bandages with your name
3. A waterbottle. any kind. any size. as long as you got water in it.

Just to sum things up for trainings and for Iota peeps:
1. Be professional and move fast always. Dont Drag. Your dear sec 1s are coming in soon. So be a role model...
2. For first aid lessons, fall in in 2 rank. Front guy is casualty, back guy is first aider.
3. Team Leader will be selected every training (something like a Day IC). He is in charge of:
- Giving instructions passed down from Sec 4s
- Checking strength
- Get everyone organized, like sitting arrangement, pushing chairs to the sides, asking for permission to enter classroom, greeting sec 4s as a group etc

Remember, you're not the juniors anymore. So start acting like a senior. Its cool to be a senior if you know how to be cool like us. Cool maanzz!

By the time the sec 1s come in (around week 5), the Sec 4s and I will ensure that you're pro enough to lead a group into missions with the proper skills and professionalism. But it won't happen unless you wanna improve yourselves too!

Think about it ;)

See you on Wed! - Hadi
