Heartfelt Workshops 2016

Hey RIRC,
HEARTFELT 2016 is here! HEARTFELT is a aesthetics-focused HQ competition that promotes the cause for humanity and service-oriented problem solving. This year there are 3 categories: Pulse (Dance), Stage (Drama) and Challenge Shield (presentation).

Submission of Supporting Documents for Absence/Latecoming

Hey RIRC,

Please do remember to submit your supporting documents for your periods of absence from trainings. These allow us to verify your reasons for your absence. These supporting documents should be accompanied with an excuse form. It is our policy that supporting documents should be submitted before the day of absence, apart from MCs, which should be submitted within that same week. As such, please do remember to be punctual for trainings and events, and submit your supporting documents on time. Excuse forms and the policy on latecoming and absence can be found in the treasure chest on the RIRC blog.

We will be collecting your supporting documents and excuse forms this Wednesday training.

National Education Gaming Championships

Hey RIRC,

NCC is having a National Education Gaming Championship, and have invited us to participate in one of their teams. The games in question are FPS, like Counter-strike and Battlefield. Here are the dates that you must attend if you sign up.

15 June (Wed) 9am to 1pm : Training at ITE Collage Central

Red Cross Uniform parts

Hey RIRC,

As you may know, B66 and B67 should have received their Red Cross Uniform (RCU) already. However, you may not have received some parts or may have lost them. On 24 May Tuesday, we will be distributing RCU parts to those who are missing various parts from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.

Your RCU should minimally have:
- Beret with cap badge
- Belt
- Boots
- Buttons (4)
- Enrollment badge

If you are missing any RCU part, please email Zhan Bo IC at boblohzb@gmail.com by this Sunday 2359. Please state your name, missing RCU part(s) and why you lost/are missing them.

National Camp 2016 Signups

Hey RIRC,

Signups for the National Camp 2016 are now open for the sec 2s! National Camp is a biennial camp for all Uniformed Groups to get together, experience outdoor activities, and to bond with members of other Uniformed Groups, and will be held at Amoy Quee Camp from 26th to 29th August.

Pre-requisites
Sec 2 or 3
- Must be physically and medically fit- Confident in their leadership ability
- Able to attain full attendance for the Pre-Camp Briefing and entire duration of the camp

Pre-Camp Briefing
Date:  19 August 2016 (Friday)
Time:  1830hr – 1930hr
Venue: Red Cross House (Haw Par Hall)
* Participants are required to submit the original copy of Annex A: Registration and Consent Form and Annex D: Nomination Form, during the Pre-Camp Briefing.

National Camp 2016 (4 Day – 3 Night Camp)
Date: 26 – 29 August 2016 (Friday to Monday)
*Reporting details and other camp details will be briefed during Pre-Camp Briefing
**Do note that the students will miss 2 days of school (26 Aug & 29 Aug)
There will be a camp fee of $30 per participant. If you choose to withdraw after signing up, there will be no refunds.

Cadet-Link Activity attendance

RIRC will be organising a Cadet-Link Activity with the links of De La Selle School on next Thursday, 19/5. This activity will be held after school, from 2.10pm to 4.30pm. Time for lunch as well as transport to the school will be provided. As such, we need you all to indicate your attendance on this link: http://goo.gl/forms/jqqRQDeu9d. The purpose of this activity is to allow the links of De La Selle School to have fun, and encourage them to join Red Cross as their CCA in secondary school. As such, we will be organising games for the links, and you all will be helping out in organising these games, by conducting the games for them on the actual day. This activity is a chance for you to interact with the links, and know them better, and also an opportunity for you to get more people to join Red Cross. Congratulations on finishing this year's MYCTs! 

CCA will resume in Week 9 Monday, please remember to report in Unit Tee with PE Shorts for training next Monday. The 1540 reporting time and reporting location (YIB Atrium) is as usual.

Also, this year's Mid-Year Camp will last 3 days from 29 May-31 May. If you are unable to attend any of these dates (for a valid reason) please email boblohzb@gmail.com with an official record that shows the reason for your absence. Specific reporting time and venue will be stated in the consent form to be given during training.

There will be an upcoming UG Carnival event being organised by HQ. The objective of the UG Carnival is to increase awareness of signature UG programmes among the general public.

There will be an FA duty for NDP 2016, and signups are open. The details are as follows:
  • Volunteers must:
    • Possess Basic first aid certifciation
    • Be Able to commit 2 out of 5 parades
    • Be Physically fit - First Aiders will be standing throughout the duty
    • Be a  Registered Red Cross Volunteer

Congratulations on your performance in AON Challenge 1 as well as in the platoon competition thus far in Term 2. 

This is how much each platoon has earned from AON 1:

Also, good job to: Tsay Yong (from Iota), Bei Hua (from Epsilon), Jovan (from Iota), and Minh (from Epsilon) for performing exceptionally well in AON 1.

Training restarts tomorrow!

Please be reminded that training starts again tomorrow, Monday, 21 March 2016! Report at the Yusof Ishak Block Atrium by 3.45 pm in your unit tee.

Prior to the auction, the platoon with the most unspent platoon points was Omega! Good job to Omega and the other platoon!

Platoon points have been reset to zero. We are revamping AON Challenges (special Inter-Platoon Competitions) this term and we will explain more about the new format tomorrow! There will also be a lot more new activities related to the new AON Challenges!

FAC 2016 Senior Category Match Support

Hello cadets,

First Aid Championships 2016 (Senior Category) will be held on this Saturday, 12 March 2016!

Your Year 3 seniors have been through a lot of preparation for this competition, so please come down and support them in the competition!

Here are the details of the competition:
Location: Ang Mo Kio Central Stage
Time: 9.30 a.m. - 6.00 p.m.*
Attire: Any Raffles/RIRC attire
* - Casualties and participants, you will be/have been briefed separately on your reporting attire and reporting time.

Note that lunch will not be provided, so please do bring money for your own lunch. You are free to come and leave as you wish.  Please bring a water bottle along (or money to buy drinks) as it is expected to be a very hot day.

Match support is optional but highly recommended. Please come down and show your support to your unit mates!
