November Camp Reflections

We are very disappointed to find out that less than half of you submitted your reflections on time. For those who have not completed, you are to do the reflections and send to the respective NCOs by 5th Dec 2200h, along with the reason for your late submission.

As for the rest of you, these people are also part of your batch. Even if you have submitted your reflections, you can still help to remind them of the deadline.

FACom Awareness

Hi all,

DID YOU KNOW?
FACom has actually 2 categories: Management and Awareness. (I bet very few of you actually knew this)

In Management, you are required to work as a team of 6 first aiders to complete a scenario under a time limit.

In Awareness, however, you will do something akin to CAC Shield, as a team of 5 people, you are required to use your creativity and first aid knowledge to design a booth in alignment to the theme “Humanity in First Aid”, and then present it to others.

This year, unlike previous years, we will be opening up the Awareness Category to you guys (Sec 2s and 3s)! So if you're interested, please FB message me or call my number at 97729309 by 22 Nov 12.00 pm.

When you join this competition, it will really open up your eyes and you get to see yourself and your team mates grow and mature along the way. So it will be a interesting experience!

FACom Signups!

Hi Sec 2s and 3s,
We are recruiting a total of 6 first-aiders to form our team which we will be sending to compete in the annual First Aid Competition next year. As you know, this competition is meant to test your first aid and teamwork skills, and will be very similar to most of the scenarios we have done before, just that it will be much more challenging.
Anyone from the Sec 2s and 3s are welcome to join, but you must have the commitment to come for every single reason unless you have valid reason. The trainings will start around this week and will last till the first week of Term 2.
If you are interested to join, please FB message me or call my number at 97729309 by tomorrow (18 Nov) 12.00 pm. Pls note that you may not be selected into the final team even if you apply to join now.
I have been in the FACom team for 2 years, and it has been a memorable experience for me working with my team and improving various skills. As such, I strongly encourage anyone with the drive and passion to join.

NDP 2014

Hi Guys, for those involved in the National Day Parade tmr, Pls report at the SR Block Foyer at 6.35 in your Full Red Cross Uniform. Thank you

Communication

Hello Sec 1s and 2s,
Here is a follow up on what happened on Wednesday Training
The Sec 2s went through a scenario where the casualties did not know about their own injuries, but they knew about each other's injuries. In that case, what is required of the Sec 2s was that they had to communicate between each other in order to complete the scenario. Along the way, instructions and new injuries were also introduced to random people.
Communication is a key part of any team, and if you guys are not able to pass on vital information to each other that will help you guys fulfill your own individual roles and team goals, then your team has failed.
This is why you have to learn to pass on vital information from one person to another when you are working together as a team.
And this does not just apply to a scenario. It also applies to when you are doing proposals, handling trainings, and when you take over as NCOs. If you fail to pass on information, your team is dead.
So next time, I want to see you guys updating each other more when you plan your Platoon CIP.
Thanks!
Kuan Yang
