IPC Evac FA

Hi all, below is the format and details for the upcoming IPCFAEVAC. This inter-platoon competition consists of 3 rounds, with all being practical/scenario rounds.

For Round 1 and 2, the focus is on the method of tying, but you still need to know the practical usage.

Below is the list of bandages that may appear during the competition for these 2 rounds:
Scalp Bandage
Arm Sling
2 Eye Bandage
Elevation Sling
Chest Bandage
Pressure Bandage
Open Palm
Neck Bandage
Jaw Bandage
Knee Bandage
Swathes (immobolisation)

Round 3 is in a scenario format, where you will start at the First Aid base before proceeding to Ground Zero.. At Ground Zero you will have to treat 3 casualties, then selecting 2 casualties with more severe injuries and evacuate them back to base. If there is still time after treating and evacuating the other 2 casualties, you can return to Ground Zero and evacuate the last casualty back to base. You will be given 30 minutes for this round. The location of Ground Zero will be revealed on the day itself.

Also, for this round, each casualty has 2 injuries, consisting of the following types:
bleeding
burns
fracture
environmental type of injuries (e.g. Head stroke, heat exhaustion, hypothermia etc.)

The evacuation route is quite long, so teamwork and coordination are very important.

Next up would be how you would be graded for the different components.

For first aid, you will be graded based on the following aspects:
Organisation
Teamwork
Sense of Urgency
Reassuring
Knowledge
Bandaging
Overall impression

For evacuation, you will be graded on the following aspects:
Organisation
Teamwork
Sense of Urgency
Knowledge
Execution
Overall impression
