Haiti Earthquake

An earthquake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale struck Haiti on 12 January. It has primarily affected the capital Port-au-Prince and other areas in the West Province which has an estimated population of 2.2 million.

The Haitian Red Cross volunteers have been working around the clock since the quake struck, despite the personal losses that many of them have suffered. More than 400 Red Cross and Red Crescent staff from other countries have arrived in Port-au-Prince since the earthquake.

So far, almost 80 tonnes of Red Cross Red Crescent aid has either landed at the Port-au-Prince airport, or has been sent overland from Santo Domingo in the neighbouring Dominican Republic.

Red Cross Red Crescent emergency appeal seeks 105 million Swiss francs (103 million USD/73 million euro) to assist 300,000 people for three years.

And that is why, we need to do out part guys. Read the post after this one. XD

"...and to join others all over the world, to help the sick and the suffering."
