FDCOM

Hey everyone!

Just in case you still don't know, FDCOM is held on 6th of March (Saturday), on our very own Parade Square.

For the Sec 1s info (and those who still do not know), FDCOM stands for the National Footdrill Competition, held once a year in Term 1. There are 2 rounds to this competition: Round A, the preliminaries, and Round B, the finals.

In Round A, the commander will have to maneuver the 15-man squad in a designated area using a set of 30 commands, and any additional commands if required, to end up at an allocated spot in the same area. The 30 commands consist of various commands from Footdrill Bronze to Gold.

In Round B, the squad (including reserves if needed) will have to display a full set of self-choreographed open-array drills, with the aid of any song from 3 to 5 minutes.

This year, there are a total of 31 Red Cross Youth units from all over Singapore participating. Each school will send 16 to 21 representatives, consisting of 1 commander, 15 main squad members, and up to 5 reserves.

The list of our participants is as follows:

Ke Yuxuan (squad commander, chief trainer)
Jason Chia (assistant chief trainer)
Jeremy Teoh
S. Saravanan
Tan Yan Tyng
Daniel Siew
Wong Li Hong
Lim Han Sheng
Ng Jee Kinn
Chan Hui Jun
Nyan Soe Lwin
Darryl Lee
Ryan Lim
See Wei Yang
George Lin
Gabriel Tan
Jee Kai Yen (reserve)

Do cheer all our participants on during this busy period as the competition date draws nearer and nearer :) if you're interested to see how things are done, you can just drop by the parade square after every training, while getting a drink at the canteen.

For Sec 1s, your chance will come next year, so do work hard at your footdrill skills when the lessons finally begin!

What do we see? We see a throng of RIRC people, uniform-clad or not, gathered on our very soil with the champion trophy and challenge shield in the middle. Yet, it is not the trophy that truly matters, but the fact that our blood and sweat for three months will finally have paid off.

We're nearing there guys. Just a little further. Let's do this.

BRING IT ON!
