  1. Henry Dunant, because he arrived on Solferino on the evening of June 24, 1859, on the same day a battle between the two sides had occurred nearby. Thirty-eight thousand wounded, dying and dead, remained on the battlefield, and there appeared to be little attempt to provide care. He took the initiative to organize the civilian population, especially the women and girls, to provide assistance to the injured and sick soldiers. They lacked sufficient materials and supplies, and Dunant himself organized the purchase of needed materials and helped erect makeshift hospitals.
    Hence, he wanted to have such an organisation to help the sick and suffering, and to have international laws governing the wars.

  2. so basically in conclusion, Henry wanted to found Red Cross because he was shocked at the people dying, and he wanted to help them :) yay
    also the full name is Jean Henri Dunant, he is born in May 8, 1828 in Geneva, Switzerland, and he died in October 30, 1910 (aged 82) in Heiden, Switzerland of old age.
